Switch Night 5 and Wednesday week 1 – Grading Round 1

12th of May, 2021

This season we have grown again to three fields. In addition to the 2 fields on the artificial surface we also now have a grass field on the adjacent oval. Normally the setup will be a 6:30 start on field 1 (the grass field) with 4 timeslots on that field and a 7pm start on the two artificial fields (2 and 3) with three timeslots. However week 1 is unusual in that it overlaps with the last week of our SWITCH program. Therefore we are only running two timeslots on field 1. This means that 7 teams a bye in week 1. From week 2 this will reduce to 3 teams only for all weeks except the state of origin nights where we run a shortened schedule .

Week 1 will be a grading round comprising two half length games. These games are used to assess the level of play for teams. More info on our season structure is available here.

Please note this is grading so mismatches will occurr  as we have news teams and plenty of new players across all teams. But grading helps us better match teams for the rest of the season.

Wednesday week 2- Grading Round 2

19th of May, 2021

Week 2, like week 1 will be a grading round comprising two half length games. These games are used to assess the level of play for teams. More info on our season structure is available here. Please note this is grading so mismatches will occurr  as we have news teams and plenty of new players across all teams. But grading helps us better match teams for the rest of the season. Week 2 will also begin our regular timeslot setup with a 6:30 start of field 1 (and 4 timeslots) and a 7:00 start for fields 2 and 3 (and 3 time slots).

Regular eason round 2 has been postponed due to Melbourne´s 4th lockdown, the season will be extended by one week to compensate

Please we are in a shared facility and various sports have different covid density rules. To allow for this our first timeslot on fields 2 and 3 have been pushed back by 15 minutes. There is also a high probability that the gams in the first time slot on field 1 will have to be postponed.

These decisions are made by council and are based on guidelines that constantly change. Therefore I will clarify as soon as possible. I would anticipate that this situation will be temporary.

The 6:30 game on field 1 has been postponed, as the situation has not yet been clarified with council and the other clubs.
