Princes Park Touch and Touch Football Australia

What is the difference?

Princes Park Touch Association (PPT) is an incorporated association. Every regular player is a member and typically retains that membership for life, Princes Park Touch’s aims are social rather than sporting and the majority of members do not play.

Touch Football Australia (TFA) is the national body for Touch Football. It is separate organisation and structured as a company owned by the state touch football bodies

What is changing?

To play Touch Football we are affiliated with the governing body of the sport Touch Football Australia (TFA). TFA now insists that every team registered with an affiliate, like us, is also recorded in their system AND have at least 8 members who have paid their “TFA National Memebership”.

What is TFA National Membership?

It is not really a membership (TFA is a company). But it does incorporate insurance and covers TFA’s costs. It costs $42 for 12 months and covers you nationally for all team’s and associations. So if you play elsewhere or multiple teams you do not need to pay twice. As it incorporates insurance we highly ensourage all PPT playing members to also become TFA “members”.

As insurance is now covered centrally on a per player rather than team basis PPT has reduced its team fees by an equivalent amount.

Separate systems

Please understand that the memberships are separate and our system is the PPT website. The two system’s do not talk to one another. My startup, that backs the PPT website, offered to build an integration. So you should continue to check in and your captain should also send list of names for the PPT team list.

Register with your team with TFA Member

The below link allows you to register as a TFA member and attach yourself to the team, in their system (each team must have 8 TFA members).

This is a pain but in order to maintain our affiliation and insurance this is required. If you have any questions regarding how this works or anything please let us know.
See you on the field
