The commit or communicate rule

At PPT we endeavour to be the best and that applies from the grass roots up.

Part of that is an insistence on honest, prompt, and explicit communication. All regular players should have read the faq and hence understand its importance:

This does not end once the season is finished but applies to any season you may wish to play in the future:

Unfortunately many people delay communications or unwilling to communicate leading into seasons. Whilst this is human nature it creates a coordination problem which is harmful to the association and is unfair on those who follow the faq.

As such if there is a team where we believe a team has players who are not doing the right thing in terms of communication for the upcoming seasn we will invoke the “commit or communicate rule”.

Basically we will ask all players on an existing team to communicate their availability explicitly and promptly to the captain of that upcoming season. Those that fail to are then not allowed to play for any team for that oncoming season. Generally for any format, night or capacity. Note this only applies to the upcoming season. EG if the upcoming season is our Winter season then those that do not communicate will not be allowed to play over Winter in any capacity (even fill in for a mixed team) but they will be fine to rejoin over the Summer season in any capacity.
