Like everyone PPT has been impacted by the current crisis.
Our Winter season kickoff is scheduled to start in 4 weeks (Wednesday the 13th of May) but if restrictions are still in place at that stage (which is likely), we will start as soon as it is safe and given we can start an abbreviated season (with lower fees) as late as July we are very hopeful of running over Winter in some capacity. We will continue to taking individual and team registrations for that season but will not collect fees until we know the season length.
One of our captains Errol Hunt, wrote the following about community sports like PPT and it more eloquent than anything I could write:
These are unsettling times. And if you’re like me, you find playing touch both calming and fun. 40 minutes physical exercise – just running around on the park “in the now”, chatting to mates before and after the game, and meeting new people.
When this period of enforced isolation ends, we al will be keen to get out on the field, see old friends, meet some new ones, and once more run around caring about nothing other than catching, passing, defending, and having fun. At that point, be assured we’ll be running out on the paddock regardless of rain, hail, snow or bushfires.
Errol Hunt
In the meantime I´ll keep you up to date as much as I can, I´ll keep posting content from the archives, and the PPT committee will be ready to get back out there as soon as safety allows it.
