next Wednesday is week 13 of our 16 week competition, and all grades are very close. So I am writing this note to clarify the current state of the comp and the structure of the comp (including finals) over the final quarter of the season.
Week 13
For those teams in A/B grade this is the final week of regular season play. At the conclusion this week the grade will be split and finals will commence in week 14. The structure of the finals will be outlined below but in short A/B grade team finishing in positions 1-11 will have something to play for over the final three weeks.
For all other grades this is the second last week of regular competition.
Week 14
As it is the last regaular season round all teams will play this week (ie there will be no byes and we will be running 4 time slots).
For teams in A/B grade this is the start of finals. The structure is
Teams finishing 6th through to 11th will contest B grade quarter finals. Teams finishing 4th and 5th will also playoff with the winner playing in the A grade semi finals and the loser into the B grade semi finals. Other A/B grade (1,2,3,12, and 13th postions) teams will play off amongst themselves in friendly matches.
For teams in other grades this is the final regular season round. However it is important to remember if you miss out on finals this is NOT the end of the season. Those teams missing finals however will playoff for minor placing so everyone will play through to the end of the season (subject to the byes). IE this is not the last week.
Week 15
This is semi final week for all grades (for those teams that make finals).
Those teams missing the finals who don’t have a bye will still play off in friendly matches for final ladder positions. (although its all friendly at RPT).
Week 16
This is grand final week for teams making GF’s and our last week.
We will be running a full program (4 time slots) so all teams will play in our final week. Those teams missing the finals will play off in friendly matches for final ladder positions.
There will also be extra drink vouchers and an end of season function at a Hotel (to be confirmed) that night so keep the night free.
