Wednesday week 1 2024
8th of May, 2024
Women's round 1
Men's round 1
Week 1 will be a grading round comprising two half length games (equal to one full length game) for all teams except for the women's and men's matches, which are full length matches for competition points. And the mixed games on field 3.
Grading games are used to assess the level of play for teams, they do not count for premiership points, being grading there can be mismatches but it helps us better match teams for the rest of the season. More info on our season structure is availableΒ here.
Due to 4 week women's and men's competitions in weeks 1-4 and the shortened night for state of origin in week 5, every mixed team will have 1-2 byes over the first 5 weeks. After that with the exception of week 12 (state of origin 3) there are no further byes planned teams will get a 13-14 game season as usual (longer than other similar competitions).
Note our Winter location is Royal Park North, 500 meters northwest of our Summer fields in Princes Park.
Like week 1, week 2 will be a grading round comprising two half length games (equal to one full length game) for all teams except for the women's and men's matches, which are full length matches for competition points. And the mixed games on field 3.

Also notes some teams will have high number of early and late games in week 1-4, this will even out.
Note our Winter location is Royal Park North, 500 meters northwest of our Summer fields in Princes Park.
Week 4 is the final night of the women's and men's competitions. All players in the men's and women's competitions should keep the evening free as following the game their will be presentations and drinks in the clubhouse
Note the large number of byes will cease after week 5, after week 4 the mix of early and late games will also begin to equalise for teams that may have had all late games up until this point.
On live rubber state of origin nights we run an abbreviated night with three time slots and extra teams having the bye.
Those playing in the first two timeslots can catch the entire game, and those playing in the third will miss the first 20 minutes.
This is the last week were we shall have a large number of teams with byes with the exception of origin 2 ( and origin 3 if it is a live rubber) as our women's competition has finished.
As this is the evening of the Melbourne State of Origin. There will be no games for competition points teams. Teams that wish to play a friendly match should send us a request and if we can find an appropriately matched opponent we will schedule a friendly match (not for competition points) for this evening.
Both the final week of the A grade round robin and the B grade quarter finals (Pretty Astrid v Slightly Touched and Dolphins v Tryz & Beerz) are considered finals and as such finals eligibility applies. So if a team wishes to field a player not on the team list or who's not played enough games during the season they need permission from the committee.

There is no extra time so in the event of a draw the team placed higher on the ladder goes through.
Importantly PPT is about participation. Therefore teams missing out on finals still playoff for positions, soΒ if your team misses finals you are still playing this week and next week.
Note the fact that the two C grade semi finals are the same as last weeks fixture is not a mistake that is how the final ladder played out.
Dunneworthy and Untouchables are straight into the A grade grand final in week 18
Note several teams are scheduled for a second formal photo. This is because the first had low numbers or poor uniforms, these will be done on a best endeavours basis. However LUV of Touch, Tuggeranong and PWR have not yet had a formal photo yet so these will be done.
This week is grand finals and friendlies. Β In finals there is no extra time so in the event of a draw the team placed higher on the ladder (listed first) is declared the premiers.
Importantly teams missing out on grand finals still playoff for final position,Β so all teams are playing this week.
We will deploy a temporary 4th field to eliminate the late time slot. This is is allow everyone to be there for the presentations and end of season drink which will be held at the Great Northern Hotel, so all members should try to keep it free (its a great night). Noting if you are playing in a grand final you are expected to be there (win or lose) as we present to both team and the referees. Everyone else is highly encouraged.
