Some matches postponed

The City of Melbourne have shut the Western oval due to the forecast rain and the currently poor surface condition. So the six games fixtured for that ground have been postponed. Note this is a council decision, not ours, we never postpone.

A normal organisation would cancel the whole round. We are NOT a normal organisation, as such the three games on the field marked on the Ransford oval will go ahead. We expect teams to ensure they put team on the field, whether its convenient or not, so we do the same.

Two other very important points:

  1. This is a postponement, we have a spare week which we’ll now utilise so as long we can get back on the Western oval next week every team will get the expected number of games and a few will get extra games (as those team currently scheduled with a bye this week will be playing next week)
  2. We are a social organisation so we encourage everyone who has locked in dinner at the GNH to still attend. If so let us know as we’ll ensure we give your team a voucher when we get to the pub.

This week we shall talk about the season structure and state of origin 3.

Season structure

This is week 9 of 16, but due to byes we are not even halfway through the season for mixed teams. Withe the exception of a few teams having byes next week (for origin) there are no more byes so each team has 7-8 more games.

In a few weeks time we shall finalise the 4 final grades.

Week 10 origin

Next week we have origin 3. 75% of teams will be playing that night but it is structured so all teams can see the game. We are all about social touch so book a table at the Great Northern and lock in dinner and origin (it will be big)

Hopefully you noticed the flags of StoreLocal Northcote flying on Wednesday nights (you walk under them entering the Western Oval).

Everyone needs storage at some point in their lives (even touch associations), these guys are the best in the business. 10% off for PPT members.
