Referee policy

Princes Park Touch is a touch football community.

To further our community we have a requirement thats teams that play in our highest grade have a referee on the team or commit to qualify a referee over the season they enter.

The committment on the part of that referee is flexible, they will be paid for any games they referee or if they do the course it will be at a time convenient to them and we will of course pay for that course.

We look after our referees and have good referee numbers. However,  we have found from experience that teams that have a referee on the team understand our social spirit, we also want to build refereeing depth, and believe that experienced teams should give something back to the sport.

To clarify:

  • This will only be required of teams in our top grade
  • We may at our discretion excuse teams in our top grade from this requirement, if they have played with us before or if they intend to contribute to our competition in other ways, e.g. they have players who want to play with us at representative tournaments
